EPiC is built around a LEARNER-CENTERED classroom with DATA at the foundation.
In our data driven environment, our teachers partner with students in the learning process. We have several adaptive learning systems for each student, which provide real time data to teachers in order to tailor instruction to each learner at their own level. We track growth by using the benchmarks set forth by the Missouri Learning Standards, and we embed 21st Century competencies throughout all learning. Teachers monitor learning progress of students and adjust instruction based on student response. On the spot assessment is seamless throughout. Students are able to articulate their level of learning and their goal for learning. Through this process, student engagement becomes the driving force for achievement. In addition, students interact with their learning and can show learning in different ways, as we cultivate voice and choice in showing mastery.
